Forum: GratefulDead Subject: Wisconsinhead - Here's the "history" with the incessant bickering.

" Why is there incessant bickering around these parts? "

Always has been? Since you made the inquiry, allow me to objectively explain it to you. Last fall, November 28th to be exact, I joined this forum. I've streamed shows in my home office from the archive for a few years and one day felt compelled to sign-up to defend the memory of Jerry Garcia, a man I knew personally, and respected professionally, for all of the trash-talking that I read here about his personal life, habits, bad musicianship etc. from a few gossip mongers who mostly, (there are a few talented exceptions here) wouldn't know what to do with a guitar even if it was Guitar Hero!

http://www.archive.org/post/335634/enough-of-the-drug-gossip-just-stop

Being a film buff, I thought I’d toss out a post or two to earn some opinions about movies. So I ran a series of post's starting January 5th for a few day's to learn of other’s opinions about films I may have missed.

http://www.archive.org/post/341237/top-ten-american-films-1954-1972

Well, this drove ol Cliffy nuts, he was constantly replying to my posts "why can't you contribute anything worthwhile here?" blah, blah, blah, and it started as innocently as that. I do believe in time he realized that I had more experience than him both within the Grateful Dead and with their music. So, consistent with his personality, he set out in an attempt to color my reputation, which he has done in the past most notably with the infamous bad ju-ju, Islam Sucks, and the Kochman before that. For that matter I think he’s gone to the mat with everyone here, Skobud included, at one time or another, except maybe the gals. When you read the Kochman war post’s you’ll understand that was a long running “dealy-who” around these here parts.

http://www.archive.org/post/283826/cliff-hucker-can-you-seriously-just-lay-off

Cliff is extremely proud of his knowledge of Grateful Dead performances he has listened to here from 1965 - 1977 and I guess somehow he felt threatened because he does base a part of his ego on his perceived status here at the forum, aka > Top Dog.

I've complimented him a few times that he has the chops to differentiate a good performance from mediocrity, but once Cliff feels threatened by you he enters into his grendel - cyborg mode and once he's set into motion he does get focused, I’ll give him that as well.

It's consistent with Cliff's personality to always have someone or something to stalk, I mean after all, he is a fisherman, the quest of the hunt, the stalking, the baiting, the reeling-in, then clubbing the poor creature to death, chopping off it’s head and gutting it's belly I guess it's somehow satisfying and fulfilling?

So, he and his pal Skobud one day jumped in a post i had written and started this rumor that I was posting under 7 to 10 handles here, none of which are true, I mean they can't even demonstrate what these other handles are that I supposedly use here, just all the other poster’s that have somehow offended him/them in the past, I guess? Then Skobud came up with this idea that it was his ol buddy Rob, the not so infamous, Kochman, and there you have it.

So it’s petty, and juvenile, and childish, but what are you going to do, I mean it’s the freakin internet and this stuff is prevalent everywhere. It’s sad when you see a few others here jump on this bandwagon for whatever reason, I mean most folks can’t even remember what they post let alone anyone else. Just click on the poster's name and the history will reveal itself to you.

So for you, it’s best that you read the recorded history here and not listen to the opinions of anyone else, myself included, just understand one thing, every word I’ve written here is the truth and there are times I have to hold back information out of respect for both the dead and the living.

For me personally, Cliff should be more selective about whom he chooses to battle with, for my fate will neither be along the lines of the not so infamous, Kochman or Islam Sucks. The truth always come through in the end and the universe takes care of all this stuff anyway, always!

In the meantime, I’ve got two dogs who take turns lifting a leg in everyone of my posts here. You’d think they would get a life, but I guess this is as good as it gets for them?

Peace out!

Rob, just be yourself again please. With this last post you've put to rest any lingering doubts. This is about the saddest thing that I've ever seen. The only people buying into your charade are your other fake personalities. I'm not just piling on here, Rob. I'm seriously concerned about you. I used to enjoy LSP for the most part, and if not for some unfortunate political discussions, I'd probably still check in over there. But you need to pull it together man. I say this as a friend. This top secret psy-war stuff is getting old. It's not a war, Rob. It's the Grateful Dead.

This is just plain odd. Someone using one of my old screen names and causing this much trouble.....

I have posted here previously as darkstarz117 and even as my current name. (I forgot my password to the original name and had to come up with a sleeker name.)

This original post makes some sense, but references many things prior to that poster being here.....weird.

Ship Of Fools Lyrics: Music: Jerry Garcia Went to see the captain, strangest I could find Laid my proposition down, laid it on the line I won't slave for beggar's pay, likewise gold and jewels But I would slave to learn the way to sink your ship of fools Chorus Ship of fools on a cruel sea Ship of fools sail away from me It was later than I thought when I first believed you But now I cannot share your laughter, ship of fools Saw your first ship sink and drown from rocking of the boat And all that could not sink or swim were just left there to float I won't leave you drifting down but whoa it makes me wild With thirty years upon my head to have you call me child ( note 1)[ chorus] The bottles stand as empty now, as they were filled before Time there was and plenty, but from that cup no more Though I could not caution all, I still might warn a few Don't lend your hand to raise no flag atop no ship of fools[ chorus]

Hey there young fella'. I have categories for these flaming posters....

Trolls
Douchebags
Blow-hards

I don't read'em once they've attained status in any of these groups.

You should create fun names for the groups of people you like or dislike her at LMA GD Forum.

I have positive group names as well.

The Curmudgeons
The Mental Spinners
The Homeboys
The REAL MEN

I'm not revealing who goes where, I think most of them already know.

true - that would indeed be detrimental to his "macho" image.

and yes, there do seem to be very very long stretches in which I seem to be absent from this fine establishment. not sure exactly why. i always intend to lurk a bit more and (ahem) "contribute," but i get sidetracked by i am not even sure what. maybe it is furiously trying to stay ahead of Wayne in the fantasy baseball league ;)

hope all is well in the sunny southwest!! (feels like living on the surface of the sun here in the east today)

Slingshot. It avoids the unsightly squishing effect that results from the energetic application of a solid object such as a golf club or cricket bat.

A day late and many, many dollars short; but rob I love that picture. It truly embodies the "old" direwolf. I lived through his "bite the mole" act. And BTW, it is good to see the "new and improved dw poking his nose in the door.

No offense taken.

I completely ignored this stuff for 6 straight months and a few weeks back had a moment of weakness and responded to the Cliff Dog, and as to be expected, this rallied the handful of his worshipers to bark loudly and the next thing i know my handle became a thread over the weekend with all this @#$#%# attached to it.

The good that has come from this episode is the following;

A) It's now ok to discuss Grateful Dead shows at the forum between 1980 and 1995 without fearing that you'll get hung.

B) It's now acceptable to discuss off topic subjects here.

C) Cliff has definitely toned down his negative responses to most peoples post's over the last 6 months and as long as i'm here, he'll continue his focus on me, and that is good for everyone else.

D) The more that the rest of the folks here continue to feel good about posting both A & B, the more bored he'll be with this place and the less time he'll spend here.

So in closing, don't ever take anything personal here, just consider the source, review the history, and grow thick skin.

Adios

BTW from where do you hail? > Lake Geneva? Milwaukee? Sheboygen? Green Bay? Madison?

Kochman, please do yourself a favor and seek some help. It's quite obvious to all here that you have suffered a breakdown. There are resources out there to help vets such as yourself get through the "rough patches" in life.

It's unfortunate that you have sacrificed so much. Losing your wife must have been very difficult to deal with, and it's even more sad considering that your illness is the result of your service to our country.

Koch, you must have a friend or someone who still cares about you and can steer you towards some help. Perhaps a counselor from the VA or a psychiatrist? There are medications available to help folks like you cope with your illness. Perhaps if you had continued taking your prescriptions you would not have been turned down for all those jobs and would not be so alone right now?

Rob - you are so awesome. The truth really is stranger than fiction.

By the way - when you reference old posts you should double check your own writing. You are referencing your posts under your real name you moron....Only you could write a post that long claiming not to be you and then reference your own posts you made under your real name to try and make your point....Its amazing really - I mean the lack of self awareness.
